Cornerstone Title Agency, LLC provides full title insurance services through its underwriters Chicago Title Insurance Company and Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company, two of the main title insurance companies in the United States. Cornerstone is owned by the law firm of Carlile Patchen & Murphy LLP, and the title agency and the law firm have been involved in issuing title insurance since 1970. The title insurance has been handled exclusively by Cornerstone since approximately 1976. The portion of the premium, and other charges, received by Cornerstone are paid to the law firm. Cornerstone provides full title services statewide, and nationally through the underwriters' national services divisions, for all title work, closings, escrow services, 1031 tax free exchange services, and all general title and search services. The licensed agents are Craig M. Stewart, John P. Wilkerson, Jr, and Marc A. Zipser. Ohio is a "filed rate" state so that almost all premiums and title charges are filed and approved by the State of Ohio, and are almost identical between all companies. The difference is the personal relationships and service on which Cornerstone prides itself. There are ample resources to cover all your title insurance and real estate needs. Special Rates & Coverages: If there is a Title Insurance Policy covering the property dated in the last 10-years, there may be a reduction of the new premium. Please provide us with that policy. Closing Protection Coverage is available and will be explained to you. If you are purchasing, or have purchased and are refinancing the property and do not buy an Owner's Policy, you have NO Title Insurance Coverage. You have the option to purchase owner's coverage.
